Marjo van der Smagt is a Mixed Medium artist, and a qualified transpersonal art therapist.

In 1996 she moved from Holland to Australia with her husband and two children.

In Holland she conducted art workshops and had several exhibitions solo, as well as with her students.

As a performing artist, she has played theatre in elderly homes (with a large theatre group). During the day she worked with people who suffered from cancer (and wanted to remain in their own homes instead of in hospital).

In 2006 she finished a 2-year study to become a Transpersonal Art therapist.

She works one on one, or with groups, and started with a colleague a healing circle

“The Web of life” which includes healing/sharing evenings. Examples are healing circles for miscarriage, depression, drug / alcohol abuse, self esteem issues, spiritual growth, and more.

Marjo’s “ART – LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL” weekend workshops in Smiths Lake are truly a “food for the soul” experience (see also weekend workshops in Smiths Lake).

Marjo is a member of the Ferry Artists, and works in their gallery in Wiseman’s Ferry on a volunteer basis, once a month.
